Jerry Trainor was born in 1977 in California. He graduated from the University of San Diego High School which is known today as Cathedral Catholic High School.
He got his first television role in 1999 in the MTV show Undressed. In 2001 this was followed by a small role in Donnie Darko, a role in an episode of Malcolm in the Middle, and Boston Public and a role in the movie Evolution.
The following year he had a few television roles including a role in an episode of Angel and ER.
In 2004 he got his first recurring role as Brian "the A.V. guy" in Crossing Jordan and this was soon followed by the role of "Crazy Steve" in Drake and Josh.
His role on Drake and Josh led him to his first lead role in a television series as Spencer Shay in iCarly.
His recent projects include a lead role in the movie Wreckless Epic and the lead role in the television movie Best Player.
