Taylor Lautner was born in 1992 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. From the age of 6 to 13 Taylor studied karate and even won the Junior World Championships at the age of 12.
His first acting role came in 2001 when he appeared in the TV movie Shadow Fury. Two years later he earned a role on the Bernie Mac Show and by 2005 he had roles in a couple of different movies and television shows. He was Elliot Muraugh in Cheaper by the Dozen 2 and Sharkboy in The Adventures of Sharkboy and LavaGirl.
His big break came in 2008 when he was cast in the role of Jacob Black in the blockbuster movie Twilight. The same year he got a major role in My Own Worst Enemy as Jack Spivey but the show was canceled after only 8 episodes.
He is reprising his role as Jacob Black in New Moon set to release in November of 2009 and in Eclipse which is set to release in 2010. He also has a role in the movie Valentine's Day as Tyler Harrinton which is also set to release in 2010.
