This is the forty-eighth post in our Game of the Day series.

The game with the ball and the two opposing bars that you have to use to hit the ball from one side to the other. Although not a very complex game, my fondest memory was that it was a way for my brother and I to escape our parents' fighting and our own fighting.


And a fad-watcher submits:
Yes, I am ancient and I remember when Pong was first sold. Pong was the first video game connected to a television. Neighborhood kids would flock to the houses that had Pong. Pong was ridiculuously simple. Pong was also a very primitive game. However, since there was no other game for comparison, Pong was the first fad. To this day, I compare the release of other games to the fad the Pong created. It is actually a good way to measure the intensity of a video game fad.
