19082009
Lisa Chappell working on her music.

This is a post in our Celebrity of the Day series.

Born in 1968, she grew up in Auckland, New Zealand where she got her first big role as Chelsea in the New Zealand show Gloss. She also took roles in Shortland Street, City Life and some appearances on Hercules: the Legendary Journeys. After that she decided that he career would have better luck in Sydney, so she packed up her bags and went to The Actors Center where she earned an advanced diploma in Acting.

Her efforts paid off and soon she was starring as Claire McLeod in the widely popular series McLeod’s Daughters. She spent three years on the series before she decided to turn her interests to singing, the producers wrote her out of the script and let her go her own way. She took a guest role on the series “Stingers.”

During this time she met and divorced her husband Chris Taylor, which caused her to drop from the spotlight for a few years. In 2005, things changed when she came out with her first album When Then is Now.
